What is your property investment strategy? From almost any small to middle sized property speculator, the answer of course varies from massively complex analysis of the World’s property and currency markets to, “I plan to make money.”

Here is a strategy worth considering
Follow the big boys. Look at where the major players are investing heavily in property and follow their lead – they have already done the research for you. Here are a range of upcoming projects and news items that bear consideration with the view to investing in property in the area surrounding one of these developments, cities or countries. This is by no means a comprehensive list, and it’s fair to say, even the big boys get it wrong sometimes.
Chandigarh, Northern India
The house of Patels is developing a $1 billion project, PRIDEASIA.
UAE based developers, Hydra Properties just started work on their “Hydra Waves,” project in Mexico.
Mumbai, India
Donald Trump Jr., Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at the Trump Organization, USA spoke recently at the CityScape India regarding India’s booming property market.
Dubai
Amwal Al Khaleej Commercial Investment Company, a leading regional private equity firm, announced 14 January 2008 that it has acquired a 49% stake in The Dubai Contracting Company for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition was made through a special purpose vehicle that is solely managed by Amwal Al Khaleej Amwal AK XII. Investors in AK XII include Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse.
Kazakhstan
As of November 2007, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested € 3.3 billion in Kazakhstan. In 2006, the EBRD annual business investment in Kazakhstan was € 242 million. As of November, the EBRD committed around € 435 million in 2007. Since starting operations in Kazakhstan, the EBRD has provided technical cooperation funds to 114 projects for a total amount of € 36 million.
