We thought that we would be best served by sticking to English Estate agents based in Spain for our search. We landed with paying a deposit of Euros 3000 to Dave Flin of AD Villas.co.uk as a deposit for an apartment in 34 Calle Salvador Dali,San Andreas Heights, Algorfa Alicante subject to all legal checks being met. We were assured by Mr Dave Flin that the property was indeed 100% legal had all the required documentation. After we made the payment we met with Daves Solicitor who told us that the property did not have a completion certificate, and the Builder had absconded and could not be traced.As such this certificate could not be procured for a further 4 years as the property was built 6 years ago. On making further enquiries we found that the residents on the Urbanisation could not sell their properties because of incomplete documentation and a erputable estate Agent QSD had withdrawn from marketing properties on this estate due to legal reasons. We withdrew from the purchase immediately,but now begins the hard slog of getting our deposit returned to us.
