Tourist Numbers Fall 16% on Lanzarote in August

Despite the onset of the peak holiday season visitor numbers continued to fall on Lanzarote during August.  According to the latest figures just released by the Spanish airport operators AENA.  Which reveal that the number of tourists spending their summer holidays in Lanzarote fell by 16.68% last month versus August 2008.

Rising Demand For Lanzarote Villa Holidays

Demand for privately owned rental accommodation on the popular holiday island of Lanzarote rose by just over 14% last month.  Confounding speculation that failing airlines, the falling pound and low consumer confidence could spell the end of holidays abroad.  According to figures just released by the Lanzarote travel and property portal, Lanzarote Guidebook.

British ‘Brickor Mortis’ Affecting Lanzarote Property

As property paralysis starts to grip the UK – with both home sales and new mortgage approvals falling by 60% plus in August – demand for property for sale in Lanzarote is showing signs of decline. Despite the fact that overseas visitor numbers to the eastern most Canary Island continue to rise.
