Want a Change – How About Exchange?
Following on from yesterday's article on the launch of TheTravelBug's permanent property trading site I thought I would detail a few of the listings currently on the site and look at a couple of cases where people have succesfully swapped and moved.
A three bedroom village house with pool and barn to exchange for a property in North West England.
A large, newly renovated house, split into two massive one bedroom apartments. There is a 1000sqm plot and a large barn. Situated in a large village at the base of the Balkans in Central Bulgaria. To swap for property in Southern France although open to offers.
A 2 bedroom house with separate guest annex in a fishing village in Florida with space for 4 boats to be docked. To swap for a property in Ireland.
There are a number of websites now offering both property exchanges within the same country and international exchanges. SwapToGo recently just rebranded itself and overhauled their website so they are now known a HouseSwapToGo and have properties listed in over 20 countries, no longer just the UK, and FrenchPropertySwap offer people with property to swap in France or people wanting to move to France listings. And InternationalPropertySwap.com does just what it says on the tin and offers property to swap all round the world.
There are various accounts of successful swaps. One contributor to the TotalFrance forum talks about how she upsized in France and there are various accounts of property exchanges within the UK . With the current stagnant property market a permanent property exchange offers a way for people to upsize or downsize or simply swap within their own country or abroad.
